This is an image from my visit to Taxal Lodge in Whaley Bridge. I've visited here before so I knew I would be able to gain access. I have one roll of black and white film I need to develop and a number of digital images to sift through. Keep your eyes open for more updates! :D

A sense of place...
For my latest project l am producing an exhibition for the Castlefield Gallery in Manchester. There are so many different ways to capture images whether it be through a Smartphone or a DSLR everyone can be a photographer.
The theme of the exhibition is a sense of place. I intend to produce a series of three photographs of derelict buildings in Cheshire and hopefully Manchester.
I want to photograph derelict buildings because of the sense you feel and have when you visit these places especially because of there history. They were once used places. Can you sense it? Can you feel anything? I want to answer these questions with my images.
My inspiration and influences for my work have come from reading urban exploration or Urbex fourms on the Internet such as (28dayslater). There is often a lot of history behind theses buildings which I will need to research before l visit. I intend to research photographers past and present such as Mark Blundell.
I am going to use both film and digital so I can see the difference in the photographs and if anything were to go wrong with the film I would have backed up images. I am going to use black and white 35mm film. I plan to experiment when creating my images by using different film and photographic techniques such as HDR. I will then use photoshop to enhance my images.

Happy New Year
Happy New Year everyone. Hope you all have a wonderful year!
l had an interview at the Marburae Gallery the other day which l thought went quite well. l talked about my course and what kind of work l do outside of college but l didn't think l'd said enough but l got an email saying l'd GOT THE JOB!!! How exciting!! My duties include social networking, flyer distribution, installing exhibitions, de-installing exhibitions, attending private views ect. A number of different jobs will be delegated each week. l start on Monday which l am very much looking forward to!
As for my college work; After l went to see Guy, he said he really likes my images and think they are really interesting especially the images of The Edge. He likes the colours in the leaves and tree's. He has said he needs to talk to the manager of the main hospital building before deciding how big and which images they want to use.
l have created a digital portfolio which l posted a link to before VVV

The Edge
These are my contact sheets from my shoot at The Edge, in Alderley Edge. l mostly looked at the tree's and what is actually there rather than the famous views. l wanted to create something different but of a place which is reconisable when the paients of the hospital are passing the images because of the time of year the colours in the leaves and tree's is really effective. l still need to work on the titles of the images so they include something related to Wellbeing and Colour.
Later on Today l am taking these images to show Guy Lawson. He is the manager of the Art Project to get his opinion, how he wants them to be displayed, what size, ect.
